Corsica / Sardinia Boat Trip

The 21st of August, a few hours after my younger host brother Gregoire left for his exchange to TAIWAN of all places, we flew off to Corsica to meet Partagas my host family's amazing boat. We were to tour Corsica (France) and Sardinia (Italy) two islands on the Mediteranian for 10 days. And yep it was as good as it sounds! This first photo is at Bonifacio, an really nice little port town. Corsica is quite Italian influenced, hense the place names like Bonifacio..

C'est l'heure d'apero! Every night before heading out to a restaurant we would have a glass or 3 of Rosé wine, Champagne even sometimes. It's another cool ambience at night like this, the boat all lit up... Check out that plasma screen inside!
Still at Bonifacio, we were absolutely dwarfed by this mega super yacht. Thats us there in front of her. Her name's Altitude, 55m long. It cruises with about 10 crew, making sure the guests cruise in absolute luxury. This is completely in another world... you can charter her for $US 230,000 per week!

The port of Bonifacio, a view looking down from the ancient fortified village which is up higher on the cliffs.

We got all that 1600 horsepower working. Leaving the cliffs of Bonifacio behind us we crossed over to Sardinia. An easy crossing of about half an hour. It's great to be up on the fly deck when you're cruising like this
And naturally because we were in Italy, we ate at fantastic Italian restaurants. The best pizzas I've ever had. In the photo you see a bit of the face of Cyril the marine/general worker on board, then Edouard my host brother, Co Co was there a friend of the family (actually half the boat is his) then Henri my host Dad.
