Austria

I then flew to Vienna, Austria. I was in Austria for 12 days, visiting Martin Obritzhauser and his family. Martin was an exchange student at home, so they invited me over for a holiday. We spent the first few days exploring Vienna then we went further south, to where they live. Vienna is a really interesting city... saw so many sights, this one is the Schonbrunner Castle. Did a tour around the central city, even visited the oldest Zoo in the world!

Heres Martin, Barbara his sister who just got back from Australia on exchange on the right, and in the middle is Jenny her mate who was with us for the few days in Vienna. Check out the size of those Wiener Schnitzels!!!

A view out over Vienna from a Ferris wheel we went up

We caught the train south, en route for their home in the provence of Styria. One day we did this tramp up a canyon, actually reminded me a bit of NZ

The next day we drove further into Southern Styria, to a place called Leibnitz where we spent the week. Stayed in a beautiful 4 star Hotel... Spent one day at Piber, the breeding/retirement farm for the presteigous Spanish Horse Riding School. This organisation operates in Vienna, they do performances with the finest bred and trained horses for the public. And we did a tour of this Piber base. It was very interesting
